About Me
I grew up in a military family and moved frequently around the country as a kid. I graduated college with a degree in German from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, and was commissioned an officer in the United States Navy. After completing flight training, I flew F-14 Tomcats in Fighter Squadron Fourteen embarked aboard the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy. Later I became a flight instructor and served on an admiral’s staff. I am a veteran of Operation Desert Storm.
After leaving active duty, I attended and graduated from the University of Florida College of Law. During my third year of law school, I attended Florida State University College of Law on scholarship and worked as a legislative intern in the Florida House of Representatives. There I assisted members and staff drafting legislation involving personal injury law. During that period, I was published in The Florida State University Law Review.
I have been representing clients injured through the negligence of others for more than 20 years. I have tried injury cases in courtrooms throughout the state of Florida, and most recently was a member of a trial team that won numerous multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements in cases involving car and truck crashes, aviation accidents, and catastrophic spine and brain injuries. I have argued dozens of appellate cases with numerous published opinions.
I believe it is the personal stories of my clients that has fueled my passion for advocacy in the courtroom. It is a privilege to tell those stories in the courtroom, and it has inspired me to work passionately in pursuit of justice for my clients.
I am married and have two grown sons, one of whom is also a lawyer working in Tampa. My wife and I live in Apollo Beach with our two cats, Edison and Frank.
