Nassau County, FL - One Killed in Car Accident on I-95 near Georgia Border

Nassau County, FL (January 23, 2021) - A man from Georgia died in a two-car accident that took place on Interstate 95 in Nassau County on Friday night. The crash happened in the northbound lanes of the roadway.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 41-year-old man from Folkston, GA was operating an SUV in the northbound lanes near mile marker 381 when he came to a stop on the highway. A second car, driven by a 37-year-old man slammed into the back of the SUV around 10:00 p.m. The 41-year-old Georgia man died in the crash while the 37-year-old man and his 59-year-old passenger were transported to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The identities of the victims have not been released.

The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident and there is no further information at this time.
