Plantation, FL - Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Sunrise Blvd.

Plantation, FL (February 1, 2021) - Police are investigating following a fatal hit-and-run crash in Plantation on Monday. The accident took place on Sunrise Boulevard near Northwest 47th Avenue.

According to a report, a woman was walking near the road when she was struck by a vehicle. The driver fled the scene immediately after the collision and before police could arrive. Rescue crews arrived and pronounced the woman dead. Her identity was not immediately released. Officers did not provide a description of the vehicle.

The Plantation Police Department is investigating at this time. There is no additional information available.

Hit-and-run crashes in Florida are some of the most common types of reported accidents. According to statistics, there were over 100,000 hit-and-run accidents reported in 2019.
