Mulberry, FL (February 2, 2021) - A 12-year-old boy from Plant City lost his life in a crash that took place in Mulberry on Sunday. The accident happened on State Road 60 near Coronet Road.
According to authorities, the crash involved two vehicles. There is no word on the details leading up to the cause of the accident. Authorities say that 30-year-old Mario Martinez collided with a car driven by 42-year-old Andres Orozco. Orozco was seriously hurt in the crash and suffered a broken neck and a broken leg. A 12-year-old boy in Orozco's vehicle died in the accident. Martinez was treated for a broken leg and released from the hospital.
Following an investigation, police charged Martinez with DUI manslaughter for his role in the crash.
