Clearwater, FL (February 7, 2021) - Multiple injuries were reported when a car crashed into a home in Clearwater early Sunday morning. The crash occurred around 4:15 a.m. on N. Highland Avenue.

Police and rescue workers responded to the scene immediately after the collision occurred. At this time, the events leading up to the accident are not clear. Firefighters extricated several people from the wreckage but it is unknown if the victims were in the house or the vehicle at the time of the crash. Al patients were taken to a nearby hospital as trauma alerts. There is no word on their conditions or identities at this time. 

An investigation into the crash is ongoing. There is no additional information available.

According to statistics published by NHTSA, a reportable car accident in Florida takes place about once every 90 seconds. While not all car accidents result in injuries, many of them do. The injuries suffered in a Florida car accident can be severe and may require weeks or even months of recovery. Sadly, many crashes are caused by negligent drivers and would have been avoided if the driver was operating their vehicle safely and cautiously.
