Lehigh Acres, FL (February 8, 2021) - A woman from Fort Myers was seriously hurt after she was hit by a vehicle on Monday. The crash took place outside the Family Dollar store at Homestead Road N. 

According to authorities, the unidentified woman was walking on Homestead Road when a driver attempted to pull forward into a parking space. Instead, the driver jumped over a curb and struck the 57-year-old woman before crashing into a storefront. EMS crews arrived at the scene and transported the woman to Memorial Hospital where she was listed ins serious condition. The van that struck the woman came to rest partially inside the store. 

At this time, police have not determined whether charges will be filed against the driver. There is no further information available.
