Fort Pierce, FL (February 8, 2021) - Officers with the Fort Pierce Police Department responded to the scene of a fatal crash on Sunday afternoon. The collision occurred around 5:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Indian River Drive.
According to officers, a 19-year-old man from Fort Pierce was driving a Ford F150 southbound on Indian River Drive when he collided with a northbound Nissan Altima. Both drivers were taken to a nearby hospital where the Altima driver was pronounced dead from her injuries. She was later identified as a 32-year-old Fort Pierce woman. The driver of the F15- was taken to the hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. The road was closed for nearly six hours following the collision and re-opened around 11:00 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation at this time. There is no further information available.
