Lutz, FL - 15-Year-Old Injured in Crash on College Avenue

Lutz, FL (February 9, 2021) - Police and rescue workers responded to the scene of an accident on College Avenue around 7:55 p.m. on Monday. The crash took place on College Avenue near the intersection with State Road 674.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 15-year-old boy from Ruskin was riding a motorcycle across a sidewalk when he was hit by a car traveling on College Avenue. The two occupants of the vehicle fled the scene following the accident.  The 15-year-old sustained serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. There is no word on his condition at this time. No additional injuries were reported as a result of the accident.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing. No additional details are available.

No one ever expects to be involved in a crash when they get into a vehicle. The reality, however, is that a reportable car accident in Florida takes place about once every 90 seconds.
