Pompano Beach, FL (February 11, 2021) - A woman was killed following a crash on I-95 in Pompano Beach. The crash happened around 4:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 11th.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman, who is from Virginia, suffered a flat tire while traveling on I-95. After stopping and exiting her vehicle, the woman tried to cross I-95. As she was crossing the road, she was hit by a pickup truck near Copans Road around 4:00 a.m. The pickup truck driver was identified as a 37-year-old man from Fort Lauderdale. The woman, who has not been identified, died after being taken to Broward Health North for treatment.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash at this time. There is no further information available.
According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, more than 3,000 people lost their lives in Florida car accidents in 2019. While this number may seem high, it helps to underscore some of the dangers that are facing drivers on our roadways.
