Pompano Beach, FL - James Bates Killed in Pedestrian Crash on North Andrews Avenue

Pompano Beach, FL (February 12, 2021) - A 35-year-old man from Boynton Beach died after a hit-and-run crash in Pompano Beach on Thursday. The accident took place around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 11th.

According to a report from officers, 35-year-old James Bates was struck by a vehicle and knocked to the ground. As he got up, Bates was hit by a second vehicle. The injuries from the second impact resulted in Bates' death. Both cars fled the scene after the crash. There is no word on the suspects at this time. 

The Broward Sheriff's Office continues to investigate. There is no further information available.
