Fort Myers, FL (February 13, 2021) - A man from Cape Coral was killed in a three-vehicle crash that took place in Fort Myers on Thursday, February 11th. The accident happened just after 4:00 p.m. on Luckett Road near Interstate 75. 

According to police, a 26-year-old Cape Coral man and a 19-year-old man from Fort Myers were traveling eastbound on Luckett Road. At the same time, a 44-year-old woman from Fort Myers was operating a pickup truck and was stopped on the northbound off-ramp of I-75. The woman entered the eastbound lanes of Luckett Road when her truck collided with the motorcycle driven by the 26-year-old man. The motorcycle driven by the 19-year-old man struck the back of the pickup. 

The 26-year-old man died at the scene while the 19-year-old man was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with critical injuries. The 44-year-old woman was treated for minor injuries. No one involved in the accident has been identified.

An investigation is ongoing at this time.

According to statistics, a reportable crash happens in Florida about once every 90 seconds. These accidents involve cars, motorcycles, pedestrians, bicycles, and others. While not all crashes result in injuries, many of them do. These accidents can be life-threatening and can have impacts for weeks, months, and even years following the crash. There is certainly nothing more devastating than the loss of a loved one in a Florida traffic crash.
