Estero, FL - Serious Injuries Reported in Car Accident on Corkscrew Road

Estero, FL (February 13, 2021) - Three cars were involved in a serious accident on Corkscrew Road in Estero. The crash took place Friday morning near County Road 840.

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene. According to a report, a 20-year-old man from Bonita Springs was traveling eastbound on Corkscrew Road. At the same time, a 67-year-old man from Naples was traveling westbound on Corkscrew in a flatbed trailer. The Bonita Springs man tried to pass a car in front of him but collided head-on with the trailer. The man's car then traveled back into the eastbound lane and collided with a third vehicle driven by a 56-year-old man from Fort Myers.

The Bonita Springs man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries while the other two drivers were treated for minor injuries. The crash caused both the eastbound and westbound lanes to be shut down. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and use caution when traveling near the scene.
