Hudson, FL (February 17, 2021) - The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a fatal collision in Hudson on Tuesday, February 16th. The crash took place on U.S. 19 near Sea Ranch Drive.

According to a report from troopers, a sedan was stopped near the intersection when it was struck from behind by an SUV. The SUV failed to slow down to avoid the accident. After the initial impact, the sedan traveled into the opposite lanes and struck a second sedan. The driver of the second sedan, a 71-year-old woman from Hudson, was taken to a hospital, where she later died. The 65-year-old driver of the first sedan was treated for serious injuries. The SUV driver and two passengers sustained only minor injuries. No one involved in the accident has been identified.
