Dania Beach, FL (February 22, 2021) - Investigators have identified a man from Pompano Beach who was killed in a motorcycle crash last week. The accident occurred around 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18th. 

Investigators with the Broward Sheriff's Office arrived at the crash scene on Griffin Road at the intersection with Southwest 33rd Avenue. According to a report, 41-year-old Dante Brovillette, of Pompano Beach, was riding his motorcycle on Griffin Road. At the same time, 38-year-old Jonathan Ross Lubert was driving a 2020 Kia Sorrento westbound on Southwest 33rd Avenue. As Lubert attempted to turn left he collided with Brovillette's motorcycle. 

Brovillette was ejected from his bike. He was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Lubert remained at the scene and spoke with investigators.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing. There is no word on potential charges at this time.

Motorcycle accidents in Florida often have dangerous and deadly consequences. According to statistics, motorcycle crashes make up about 15% of all reported traffic deaths in our state. This is despite the fact that motorcycles also only account for about 3% of all registered vehicles. A Florida motorcycle accident can, and often does, change the lives of those involved forever.
