Port Richey, FL - One Hurt in Hit-and-Run Crash on U.S. 19

Port Richey, FL (February 24, 2021) - One person was in a hit-and-run accident that took place in Port Richey on Wednesday, February 24th. The accident happened just after 10:00 p.m. on U.S. 19 near Regency Boulevard.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 31-year-old Christopher Steven Cignarella was driving northbound on U.S. 19 when his car struck another vehicle driven by a 20-year-old woman from Port Richey. The woman was attempting to turn left onto Regency Park when the crash took place. The woman, who has not been identified, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Cignarella fled the scene following the accident and police are still searching for him in connection with the crash.

According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, there were approximately 240,000 individuals injured in Florida car accidents in 2019.
