Deltona, FL - Man Killed in Crash while Standing on Normandy Blvd.

Deltona, FL (February 25, 2021) - A 31-year-old man from Deltona was killed after being hit by a vehicle on Wednesday night. The crash happened around 9:30 p..m. on North Normandy Boulevard near the intersection with Merrimac Street.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, John Ramos was standing on the roadway holding a skateboard when he was hit by a 2015 Nissan Rogue that was traveling southbound on Normandy Boulevard. Ramos was airlifted to Central Florida Regional Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver and a passenger in the Rogue were not hurt in the collision.

An investigation is ongoing at this time. Charges are pending the results of toxicology tests. There is no further information available.
