Marion County, FL - Ocala Police Officer Injured in Two-Car Crash on SE 17th St.

Marion County, FL (February 26, 2021) - An offIcer with the Ocala Police Department was hurt in a two-vehicle accident that took place in Marion County on Friday, February 26th. The crash happened around 8:00 a.m. on Southeast 17th Street near the intersection with Southeast 22nd Avenue.

According to a report, the officer was traveling in a marked patrol car when he collided with a Jeep. Both vehicles sustained serious damages in the crash. The officer and the driver of the Jeep were transported to a nearby hospital and were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. There is no word on the events leading up to the collision and an investigation is ongoing.
