Jacksonville, FL (February 28, 2021) - One person was killed and four others sustained injuries following a traffic collision in Jacksonville on Sunday, February 28th. The accident happened on Interstate 295 near Lem Turner Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 22-year-old male was operating a Kia Sportage when the car ran off the roadway and struck several trees before coming to rest. The driver was killed in the crash. Four other occupants of the vehicle were taken to UF Health with serious injuries. The other passengers were between 19 and 20 years of age. There is no word on the identity of the victims at this time.

The crash is under investigation. No further details are available.
