Osceola County, FL - 70-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on U.S. 192

Osceola County, FL (March 5, 2021) - A 70-year-old man from Kissimmee died in a pedestrian crash that took place in Osceola County on Thursday, March 4th. The collision happened around 8:3 p.m. on U.S. 192 near Simpson Road.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a 31-year-old Naples man was driving westbound on U.S. 192. At the same time, the 70-year-old man attempted to cross the highway on foot. The pedestrian was struck by the vehicle and died at the crash scene. At this time, officials have not released the pedestrian's identity. There were no other injuries reported in the accident. It is not clear if any charges are expected.

An investigation is ongoing. No further details have been released.

Fatal pedestrian accidents in Florida take place about once every two hours. Sadly, many pedestrians are killed or seriously injured when they are involved in crashes with negligent drivers.
