Fort Pierce, FL - Hit-and-Run Crash on N. 19th Street

Fort Pierce, FL (March 6, 2021) - Police in Fort Pierce are investigating following a hit-and-run crash on Thursday, March 4th. The incident occurred on North 19th Street, east of North 25th Street and Avenue M. 

When officials arrived at the scene, they found an unidentified victim unconscious in the middle of the roadway. The victim was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center where they were listed in critical condition. Officers are investigating the incident. At this time, there has not been any information on the vehicle or the suspect believed to be involved in the incident. 

No further details are available. 

Florida experiences more than 100,000 hit-and-run crashes each year. In 2019, hit-and-run accidents in Floridaaccounted for about 25% of all reported collisions in our state. Although drivers are legally required to remain at the scene of an accident, many choose to flee in an effort to avoid the legal consequences of their actions.
