Spring Hill, FL - Woman Killed in Car Accident on Spring Hill Drive

Spring Hill, FL (March 7, 2021) - A 66-year-old woman was killed in a crash between two vehicles in Spring Hill on Saturday. The incident took place around 5:00 a.m. on Spring Hill Drive near Barclay Avenue.

According to officials, a 31-year-old man from Brooksville was traveling westbound on Spring Hill Drive near Barclay Avenue. At the same time, the 66-year-old Spring Hill woman was traveling south on Barclay. Both cars entered the intersection at the same time and collided with one another. The woman was taken to a local hospital where she died from her injuries. The male driver was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The identities of the victims have not been released at this time.

No further information is available. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, there were more than 3,000 fatalities reported in traffic accidents in Florida in 2019. While each Florida car accident must be carefully investigated, many fatalities affect innocent victims and their families and are caused by the actions of negligent drivers.
