Daytona Beach, FL - Woman Killed, Firefighters Hurt in Fire Truck Crash on U.S. 92

Daytona Beach, FL (March 8, 2021) - A woman from Ormond Beach was killed and several firefighters were hurt following a crash in Daytona Beach on Saturday. The incident took place at the intersection of West International Speedway Boulevard and U.S. Highway 92.

According to a report, the woman was driving a Pontiac in the southbound lanes of the roadway when her car collided with a fire truck that was leaving the parking lot of the store. The fire truck overturned as a result of the collision. The Pontiac driver was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. Five firefighters in the truck at the time of the crash were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The identity of the deceased victim is not available at this time. An investigation is ongoing.
