Jacksonville, FL (October 3, 2020) - The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating after a pedestrian was seriously hurt in a crash on Friday. The incident took place around 10:30 a.m. along Beach Boulevard.

According to deputies, a male pedestrian was attempting to cross Beach Boulevard when he was hit by a westbound vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene just after the crash and was not present when police arrived. The pedestrian suffered critical, life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Investigators believe that the vehicle is a dark-colored Dodge with front-end damage.
