Jacksonville, FL - JSO Police Cruiser Involved in Injury Crash on San Juan Avenue

Jacksonville, FL (October 3, 2020) - A deputy with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was involved in an injury crash on Friday, October 2nd. The crash occurred around 9:15 p.m. on San Juan Avenue near the intersection with Hyde Park Road.

According to a report from the scene, the deputy was responding to a call and was making a U-turn with his emergency lights activated when his car collided with a vehicle traveling westbound. A passenger in the vehicle that was struck was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a neck injury. Neither the driver of the car nor the officer was injured in the crash. The passenger's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed as a result of the crash. No further details are available at this time.
