Manatee County, FL - Two Seriously Hurt in Hit-and-Run on U.S. 41

Manatee County, FL (September 30, 2020) - Two people suffered injuries in a hit-and-run crash that took place in Manatee County on Wednesday, September 30th. The crash happened on U.S. 41 near Westmoreland Drive.

According to police, an 87-year-old man from Port Charlotte made a left turn and collided with an oncoming Ford pickup truck. The SUV then overturned and flipped several times before coming to rest in an upright position. The Port Charlotte man fled the crash scene shortly after impact and before police could arrive. A 28-year-old Bradenton woman and a 6-year-old boy in the SUV suffered serious injuries. A 57-year-old man Bradenton man sustained minor injuries. The suspect driver was later located and arrested by officers. His identity has not been released at this time.

There is no additional information available.
