Pierson, FL (September 28, 2020) - One person was killed in a three-car crash that took place in Pierson on Monday, September 28th. The collision happened in the 800 block of U.S. 17 around 2:05 p.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident involved a large pickup truck and two other vehicles. Following the collision, the pickup rolled over and came to rest in a ditch along the side of the roadway. Police believe that the crash began when one of the vehicles attempted to pass slower traffic. At this time, the identity of the deceased victim is not available. There is no information on whether anyone else was injured in the accident.
The roadway was closed while officers investigated the scene and cleared away debris. An investigation remains ongoing at this time. No additional details are available.
