Fort Myers, FL - Pregnant Woman Hurt in Crash with Drunk Driver

Fort Myers, FL (September 26, 2020) - A pregnant woman suffered injuries after being hit by a drunk driver in Fort Myers according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office.

The crash took place on Thursday, September 24th on McGregor Boulevard. Police say that 25-year-old Samantha Raye Patton was traveling northbound on McGregor when her car left the roadway and collided with a section of fencing and a palm tree. The car then veered into the southbound lanes where it crashed through a construction barrier before hitting the pregnant woman. Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the woman to a local hospital. There is no word on her condition at this time. Patton fled the scene but was located about a quarter-mile away.

 Patton was investigated following an investigation. There is no word on the charges that she faces at this time.
