Clay County, FL - One Dead Following Head-On Crash on US 301

Clay County, FL (September 26, 2020) - One person was killed in a head-on crash that took place in Clay County on Friday, September 25th. The accident happened around 9:00 p.m. on U.S. 301 near County Road 218.

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene shortly after the accident occurred. According to a report, there were two cars involved in the crash. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Both the northbound and southbound lanes of the roadway were closed following the accident. The identity of the deceased victim has not been released and there is no word on whether any other injuries were reported. The cause of the crash remains under investigation at this time.
