Cocoa, FL (October 11, 2020) - A woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident near Cocoa on Saturday, October 10th. The crash happened sometime after midnight on U.S. 1 near Gloria Avenue.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene after the crash occurred. According to police, the woman was walking northbound on U.S. 1 when she was hit from behind by a vehicle. The woman was thrown into a ditch after impact. The driver of the vehicle fled the crash scene before the police could arrive. The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the scene by rescue crews.
The FHP is still investigating the accident at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact troopers at 407-737-2213. No additional details are available at this time.
