Deland, FL (September 19, 2020) - One person was killed and four others sustained injuries in a serious crash along State Road 40 near Deland. The crash was reported around 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, September 19th.

According to a repots from the Florida Highway Patrol, a man was traveling eastbound in a pickup truck on SR 40 when an SUV crossed over into his lane. The SUV and pickup collided head-on and the pickup truck driver suffered critical injuries. He was later pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV driver and a 17-year-old passenger sustained serious injuries. Two passengers in the pickup truck also suffered serious injuries. The pickup truck driver has been identified only as a 75-year-old man from Daytona Beach.

The crash remains under investigation at this time and there is no word on potential charges.
