Port St. Lucie, FL (September 16, 2020) - A 9-year-old boy sustained serious injuries after being hit by a van in Port St. Lucie on Wednesday. The crash happened around 4:45 p.m. in the 3100 block of SW Savona Road.
According to Sgt. Keith Boham of the Port St. Lucie Police Department, the child was walking on a sidewalk when he stepped into the road and was hit by a 2008 Dodge Sprinter van. The St. Lucie County Fire Rescue transported the boy to a local hospital with significant injuries. The driver remained at the scene following the crash and cooperated with police investigators.
There is no word on any potential charges at this time. No further information is available.
