Sarasota, FL (September 15, 2020) - A pedestrian was killed in a crash that took place in Sarasota on Tuesday, September 15th. The crash happened on Bee Ridge Road near the intersection with Beneva Road just after 6:00 a.m.
The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office along with the Florida Highway Patrol arrived at the scene just after the incident occurred. According to reports from the scene, a Ford F-150 truck was traveling westbound on Bee Ridge near the intersection when it collided with the 37-year-old male pedestrian. The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the crash scene. The driver of the truck remained at the scene after the accident.
There is no word on whether charges are expected to be filed against the driver.
A pedestrian crash in Florida can have serious consequences for victims and their families.
