Clearwater, FL (October 18, 2020) - A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a vehicle in Clearwater on Saturday, October 17th. The crash occurred around 6:00 p.m. along Gulf Boulevard.

The Clearwater Police Department, along with rescue crews, responded to the crash scene just after the accident took place. Police say that a pedestrian was walking on Gulf Boulevard when they were hit by a car. There is no word on whether the pedestrian was in a crosswalk when they were struck. The unidentified pedestrian was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries following the crash. The driver remained on the scene. 

Both directions of Gulf Boulevard were closed while police investigated the crash and motorists were advised to avoid the area. There have been no further details released at this time. An investigation remains ongoing.
