Putnam County, FL (October 28, 2020) - A man from East Palatka was killed when his car collided with a box truck in Putnam County. The crash took place on Wednesday, October 28th just before 9:00 a.m. on State Road 100.
According to authorities, the 52-year-old man was driving eastbound on SR 100 when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of his car. The car crossed the center line and struck a box truck that was traveling westbound. The box truck left the roadway and came to a stop on the shoulder before catching fire. The driver of the sedan died at the crash scene while the box truck driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Neither motorist has been identified at this time.
Every year in Florida there are, on average, about 400,000 reported traffic accidents. Of these, more than 250,000 are crashes that involve injuries to one or more motorists. Unfortunately, the chances of being hurt in a Florida car accident are quite high. Drivers should always take all precautions to help avoid the occurrence of a serious crash that could have catastrophic consequences.
