Jacksonville, FL (October 28, 2020) – A pedestrian was killed in a crash that took place in Jacksonville on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. along Philips Highway near the intersection with Baymeadows Road.

According to troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol, a 32-year-old man was walking in or near the roadway when he was hit by a sedan that was traveling northbound on Philips. The man, who has not been identified, suffered critical injuries in the crash. There is no further update to his condition at this time.

Neither the 55-year-old driver nor a 26-year-old passenger in the sedan was hurt in the crash.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
