Marion County, FL - Two Killed, One Hurt in Crash on NW 100th Street

Marion County, FL (October 31, 2020) - Two people were killed and a third suffered injuries in a crash that took place on Friday in northwest Marion County. The crash was reported around 8:00 p.m. on Northwest 100th Street near the intersection with Northwest 49th Avenue.

According to a report, the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when the car crested a hill, traveled into the opposite lane, and veered off the roadway. The crash struck a mailbox, before hitting a sign and a tree. The vehicle then rolled over before coming to rest on its right side. A minor passenger died in the crash while a second minor was taken to Florida Health Shands in unknown condition. The victims have not been identified at this time and an investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
