Palm Beach County, FL (August 17, 2020) - The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene of a fatal crash on Monday, August 17th. The accident took place on Okeechobee Boulevard near Lowe's and the intersection with Military Trail.

According to initial reports, a motorcycle and a car collided with one another. When police arrived, they discovered the motorcyclist suffering from serious injuries caused by the crash. The unidentified rider was taken to a hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries. No other injuries were reported and neither the motorcyclist nor the driver of the vehicle has been identified at this time. There is no word on what led up to the accident.

Deputies continue to investigate the crash. No further details have been released at this time.

Motorcycle accidents in Florida are extremely dangerous and can produce devastating results. Although motorcycles make up only about 3% of all registered motor vehicles, they account for approximately 15% of all traffic-related deaths in our state. Last year, more than 500 people were killed in Florida motorcycle accidents throughout our state.
