Naples, FL (August 7, 2020) - A man from Naples was killed in a motorcycle crash that took place on Friday, August 7th. The crash happened around 1:00 p.m. on Pine Ridge Road near the intersection with Airport Pulling Road N.  

According to police, a 22-year-old man was riding his motorcycle southbound on Airport Pulling Road when he came to a green light at the intersection. A sedan traveling the opposite direction made a left turn in front of the motorcycle and caused a crash. The North Collier Fire Department and Collier County EMS were called to the crash scene. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car suffered minor injuries. The North Collier Fire along with Collier County EMS responded.

There is no additional information available and no word on whether any charges are expected.

More than 3,000 people are killed annually in crashes on Florida's roadways. This number has continued to climb every year and more than 500 people are killed in Florida motorcycle accidents each year. Motorcyclists are especially at risk as their bikes provide little protection from the impact of a serious crash.
