Pinellas Park, FL (November 2, 2020) - A 65-year-old woman from Pinellas Park was killed after being hit by a car on Saturday. The crash happened around 11:00 p.m. on 62nd Avenue North near 45th Street.

The woman, who has not been identified at this time, was crossing the street from north to south when she was hit by a car. The driver of the vehicle was identified as a 54-year-old man from St. Petersburg. The female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not in a crosswalk when the crash happened. 

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. There is no additional information available at this time.

Pedestrian accidents in Florida take place multiple times per day. Tragically, about two fatal pedestrian crashes occur daily in our state, and annually there are over 500 deaths due to Florida pedestrian crashes. Pedestrians are extremely vulnerable to being seriously injured or killed when they are involved in a crash.
