Sarasota, FL (November 8, 2020) - The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal car accident in Sarasota. The crash took place around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday morning along Beneva Road near Proctor Road.
According to a report from troopers, one person was pronounced dead as a result of the crash. The northbound lanes were closed following the accident, forcing motorists to find alternate routes of travel. There is no word as to the cause of the accident at this time and no information has been released regarding the number of vehicles involved. It is unclear if there were any other injuries as a result of the accident.
An investigation remains ongoing. No further information is available at this time.
