Miami, FL - Man Killed in Friday Pedestrian Accident on U.S. 1

Miami, FL (August 29, 2020) - A pedestrian was killed in a crash that took place in Miami on Friday, August 28th, on U.S. 1, near Southwest 63rd Street.

Based on reports from the scene, the pedestrian was walking southbound on U.S. 1 when they were hit by a car. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene until police arrived. The pedestrian suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead by rescue workers. The driver was not hurt in the crash. There is no word on how the accident took place.

An investigation remains ongoing at this time. No further information is available. 

Florida pedestrian accidents, on average, result in about two fatalities per day. Pedestrian crashes in Florida often result in some of the most serious injuries that we see and can often lead to death.
