Miami, FL (August 27) - The Florida Highway Patrol responded to an injury accident in Miami on Thursday, August 27th. Troopers were on the scene at the intersection of S. Dixie Street and SW 211th Street when the crash took place.
At least one person sustained injuries although the victim's condition was not immediately available. Officials did not provide any details on the vehicle or suspect that caused the crash to occur. A roadblock was put up at the scene and motorists in the area were advised to use caution when traveling through the crash site.
No additional information was released.
Florida experiences approximately 400,000 car accidents each year. While this number may seem high, it equates to a reportable crash happening approximately once every 92 seconds. More than half of all reported accidents will also result in injury for one or more victims. No one is ever immune from being the victim of an injury crash on Florida's streets and highways.
