Oviedo, FL (August 24, 2020) - A man is dead following a two-car accident in Oviedo on Sunday, August 23rd. The crash took place around 6:30 a.m. on Bug Lake Road near the intersection with Slavia Road.
According to troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol, an SUV came to the intersection of Bug Lake and Slavia. The SUV had a red light in its direction of travel. At the same time, a sedan was attempting to make a left turn onto Bug Lake with a green light in its direction of travel. The SUV and the sedan collided with one another. The 21-year-old sedan driver died at the scene. The 49-year-old SUV driver was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation at this time. Neither driver has been identified and there are charges pending against the driver of the SUV.
