Hillsborough County, FL (August 20, 2020) - A 17-year-old girl was killed in a pedestrian accident that took place in Hillsborough County on Wednesday, August 19th. The crash happened in the southbound lanes of I-75 near milepost 240.
According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the girl was walking near the travel lanes when she was struck by an unidentified vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene shortly after the crash. Troopers believe that the vehicle is a tractor-trailer. The girl was pronounced dead at the crash scene.
There is no further information available at this time. An investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
