Orange County, FL (November 15, 2020) - Two men were killed and two others sustained injuries after a head-on crash in Orange County on Friday. The accident happened on Hoffner Avenue.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 24-year-old man from Orlando was driving a sedan westbound on Hoffner when he attempted to make a lane change. As he changed lanes, the man lost control of his vehicle and crossed the double yellow line into the eastbound lanes. While in the eastbound lanes, his car collided head-on with another sedan. The second sedan then collided with an SUV. Both the 24-year-old man, as well as his 39-year-old male passenger, were ejected from their vehicle. The driver and passenger both died as a result of their injuries. The 50-year-old driver of the sedan and a 50-year-old driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries in the collision.
The identity of the deceased victims is not available at this time. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Last year, more than 3,000 people were killed in Florida car accidents. This number has been on the rise in recent years as more and more motorists take to the roadways. Drivers should always remember to drive safely and cautiously in order to lower their risk of being involved in a tragic crash and causing catastrophic consequences for themselves and others.
