The Lehigh Acres woman was taken to a hospital for serious injuries while a 1-year-old girl in her vehicle was transported for minor injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle was killed in the crash. That driver's identity has not been released at this time. The truck driver was not injured in the crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating. No additional details are available at this time.
Car accidents in Florida take place nearly all the time. In fact, according to statistics from NHTSA, a reportable crash occurs about once every 92 seconds. This goes to show us that no motorist is ever truly safe from the potential effects of a dangerous or deadly accident on our roadways. With a high prevalence of negligent drivers, motorists in Florida should always be on the lookout for ways in which they can help avoid these catastrophic crashes from occurring.
Our condolences go out to the family who lost their loved one in this accident and our thoughts and well-wishes are with the injured motorists as we hope for a complete recovery.
