Fort Myers, FL (August 18, 2020) - Two people suffered injuries in a car accident that took place in Fort Myers on Sunday, August 16th. The crash was first reported on Sunday evening along Interstate 75 near mile marker 144.
The Bayshore Fire Rescue was among the first units at the scene. According to authorities, a vehicle was traveling on I-75 when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the car. The vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with a cabbage palm tree. Rescue crews discovered two people trapped inside the car following the crash. Firefighters worked to extricate the two victims who were then transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. There is no additional update on their conditions at this time. Police have not released a cause for the crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time and there are no further details available.
