Columbia County, FL - 13-Year-Old Girl Killed in Crash Between Car and Semi-Truck

Columbia County, FL (August 17, 2020) - Police were on the scene of a fatal accident in Columbia County on Monday, August 17th. The crash happened on I-10 near U.S. 441 around 11:15 a.m. 

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 36-year-old female driver was operating a vehicle eastbound on I-10 when her car collided with a tractor-trailer. A 13-year-old female occupant of the car was killed in the crash. The driver and a 15-year-old female passenger suffered serious injuries and were taken to a hospital in Gainesville for treatment. The truck driver sustained minor injuries. There is no information on the cause of the accident at this time and no word on whether any charges are expected.
