Manatee County, FL (August 14, 2020) - The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a hit-and-run crash in Manatee County on Friday, August, 14th. Troopers were called to the scene on 53rd Avenue around 8:30 p.m.
When they arrived on the scene, officials discovered that at least one person had been injured in the crash, although the extent of the victim's injuries was not immediately known. The driver who caused the crash fled the scene prior to the arrival of troopers. No information was given on the suspect or whether any arrests had been made. The crash caused a roadblock as it blocked the scene and drivers were urged to use caution and find alternate routes of travel if possible.
