Hobe Sound, FL (November 18, 2020) - A teenage girl suffered serious injuries in a crash that took place in Hobe Sound on Tuesday, November 17th. The crash happened around 8:50 p.m. on Florida's Turnpike near Mile Marker 120.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a passenger vehicle carrying two teenagers was traveling in the southbound lanes of the Turnpike when the driver lost control of the car. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled over before coming to rest. The car caught fire following the crash and became engulfed in flames. One of the occupants was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. There is no word on the condition of the other occupant.
Motorists were advised to avoid the crash scene as police diverted traffic to a nearby roadway while investigators were at the scene. There is no further information available at this time.
